Jarboe received an Honorary Degree of A.M. in 1853 and Cook served as a trustee of the college from 1860 to 1869, but neither gentleman enrolled at Dickinson as a student. Mr. Bing received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Dickinson at that time during a special convocation ceremony.
