For a full list of journals related to archaeology, see the Journal Locator, and select “History and Archaeology” in the “Browse Journals by Subject” drop-down menu. Click on each title for location information-- some journals will be available online and some in print at the library.

A complete list of Dickinson's databases can be found on the library's database page. Databases locate articles, book reviews, and book chapters, and some will provide full text. Some databases are also useful for locating images.
The following databases are useful for general archaeology topics.
Arts and Humanities Search Secondary source arts and humanities journals from international publishers. Some full-text available through the library's "Get It" feature. Covers journals published between 1980 to the present.
ARTstor A massive collection of images covering art, architecture, and archeology, made up of several distinct image collections. Collections can be searched as a whole or individually. ***It is necessary to turn off your browser's pop-up blocker for ARTstor to work properly.*** To connect to the ARTstor image collections, click on the orange "GO" button in the upper right-hand corner of the ARTstor homepage.
Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA) A citation-only index of articles, art-related books, conference proceedings, dissertations, and art exhibition and dealer's catalogs. Covers European and American art from late antiquity to the present. Items in the index have been published between 1975 to present. Some full-text coverage may be available through the library's "Get It!" feature.
Google Scholar Locates scholarly articles in a variety of fields. If the full text of the article is not available and you are on campus, click on the "Resources @ Dickinson" link to find or request it. If you are off campus, enable the "Resources @ Dickinson" link by clicking "Scholar Preferences" and selecting "Dickinson College - Full-text @ Dickinson". If the result is in a book, click "Library Search" (if available) or search for the book in the Dickinson Library catalog.
Grove Art Online The definitive encyclopedia for art and art history. Grove Art includes thumbnail art images and line drawings, image links, and bibliographies.
Humanities Full Text A full-text database that covers journal articles in Archaeology, Area Studies, Art, Classical Studies, Communications, Dance, Film, Gender Studies, History, Journalism, Linguistics, Literature, Music, Performing Arts, Philosophy, and Religion. Articles in this database have been published between 1984 to the present.
JSTOR An interdisciplinary archive of over 600 journals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.
Project MUSE A multi-disciplinary database of full text articles from scholarly journals in both humanities and social sciences. Most journals covered are up to date. Can be used as complementary to JSTOR as the latter covers mostly archival issues.
Archaeology of the Americas Databases
In addition to the databases above, the following databases may be useful for topics in Archaeology of the Americas.
America: History & Life History and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present. Includes secondary source articles, books, and book reviews published between 1964 to present. Some full-text links included. Use the library's "Get It!" button to obtain materials with no direct full-text link. Not a good source for ancient or medieval history, or for topics not dealing with North America.
Anthropology Plus This is the online version of "Anthropological Literature" from Harvard University and "Anthropological Index" from the UK's Royal Anthropological Institute. It covers international journals from the early 19th century to the present. In addition to journal articles, it includes citations for reports, commentaries, edited works and obituaries in the fields of social, cultural, physical, biological and linguistic anthropology, ethnology, archaeology, folklore, material culture and interdisciplinary studies. • Coverage Range: Late 19th century to present • Citations Only • 5 Simultaneous Users
AnthroSource Full-text database of the 20 journals, newsletters, and bulletins published by the American Anthropological Association. Links to JSTOR are provided for full-text access to major AAA journals published in 1996 and prior. On PCs it works best with the Internet Explorer browser; on MACs it works best with Firefox.

Atreus: Treasury of Mycenaean Bibliography An on-line search engine/database of books and articles in Mycenaean archaeology, classified by author, subject, and region, with a full index on the site of Mycenae. • Citations Only
ICON: Archaeology The ICON Archaeology collection consists of over 10,000 digital images related to the ancient history of the Mediterranean region. Images include dig sites, artifacts, and architecture. This collection is available for all Dickinson faculty and students to use in their teaching and research.
TOCS-IN (Tables of Contents of Journals of Interest to Classicists) TOCS-IN provides the tables of contents of a selection of Classics, Near Eastern Studies, and Religion journals, both in text format and through a Web search program. Where possible, links are given with articles for which the full text or an abstract is available online.

RAMBI: Index of Articles on Jewish Studies A bibliography of articles in the various fields of Jewish studies and in the study of Eretz Israel. Material is compiled from thousands of periodicals and from collections of articles - in Hebrew, Yiddish, and European languages - mainly from the holdings of the Jewish National and University Library. Mediterranean Archaeology Resources
Bryn Mawr Classical Review Bryn Mawr Classical Review publishes book reviews of current scholarly work in the field of classical studies (including archaeology).
