PAIS International (Public Affairs Information Services): Index access to journal articles, books chapters, reports, and government publications from 12 countries. Making of the Modern World: Access to more than 61,000 titles from books, journals, pamphlets, essays, reports, correspondence, speeches, surveys. Content is in English and other languages. Datamonitor 360: Previously called Marketline Business Information Center. Contains industry profiles including standardized market data and competitive analysis; company profiles of 50,000 public and private companies around the world; country profiles including summaries and standardized data; base drivers featuring key macro-economic, social, demographic and industry statistics for 215 countries. KPMG Competitive Alternatives: Contains KPMG's guide for comparing business locations and industry profiles in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Lexis-Nexis - Academic Universe: Access to hundreds of newspapers from around the world, plus a wealth of country profiles and company profiles. (A Dickinson Database)

Market Research Library: Provided by U.S. Department of Commerce. Contains more than 100,000 industry and country-specific market reports, including country commercial guides, industry overviews, market updates, multilateral development bank reports, best markets, industry/regional reports. (Notes: these reports are available only to U.S. companies and students/researchers that are registered with Export.gov. Register to get access.)

PrivCo: Private Company Reports: A source for business and financial data on major, non-publicly traded corporations, including family owned, private equity owned, venture backed, and international unlisted companies.

Privatization Database - World Bank: The database is provided by the World Bank Group. It provides information on privatization transactions of at least US$ 1million in developing countries from 2000 to 2008. Information is periodically updated.

World Investment Report (1991-2009) - UNCTAD: Provided by Investment and Enterprise Division of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Covers the latest trends in foreign direct investment around the world and analyses in depth on selected topic related to foreign direct investment and development.

World Investment Prospects - UNCTAD: Provided by Investment and Enterprise Division of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Contains reports on future medium-term trends in foreign direct investment.

Country Information

BBC News Country Profiles: Provided by BBC News. Offers an instant guide to history, politics, and economic background of countries and territories, and background on key institutions. Also includes audio and video clips from BBC archives.

Encyclopedia Britannica Online: Provides a good summary of a country's history as well as other basic information. (A Dickinson Database)

Global EDGE: A knowledge portal that is created by the International Business Center at Michigan State University. It contains statistical data, historical information, economic information, political conditions for nearly every country in the world.

Marketline Business Information Center Library (The company released a new database interface called Datamonitor360, which is displayed in the previous section. Both of them provide the same content) Contains country profiles and base drivers featuring key macro-economic, social, demographic and industry statistics for 215 countries. (A Dickinson database).

World Factbook: From the CIA. It provides information on every country in the world and is frequently updated.

World Development Indicators: Provided by the World Bank Group. Contains statistical surveys of world development.

The Europa World Yearbook (REF JN1.E85 2007): in library reference stacks. An excellent source of information on country profiles.

Countries of the World and Their Leaders Yearbook (REF G 1 .C88 2013): in library reference stacks. Another excellent source of information on countries.

Data of Financial, Economics, & Trade

Data & Research: Provided by the World Bank Group: Includes benchmark statistical documents such as the latest edition of World Development Indicators (WDI) as well as statistical profiles of countries.

Digital Library of UNCTAD: Provided by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Access to references to the knowledge generated by UNCTAD through its intergovernmental and expert meetings, analyses and research, as well as statistical and report documents.

FDI Statistics - UNCTAD: Provided by Investment and Enterprise Division of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Access to FDI Statistics documents and analyses global and regional trends in FDI, and assist developing countries in formulating FDI policies based on quality FDI data.

Foreign Trade Statistics - U.S. Census Bureau: The official source for U.S. export and import statistics. Contains import and export statistics, information on export regulations, commodity classifications, and other trade related topics.

Handbook of Statistics - UNCTAD: Provided by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. An online public folder containing statistics reports on international merchandise trade, international trade in services, economic trends, foreign direct investment, population and labor force, information economy, creative economy, and maritime transport.

International Statistical Agencies (U.S. Census Bureau): A list of statistical agencies of main countries and territories in the world. Links are provided.

International Trade Statistics - World Trade Organization: Annual compilation of global trade statistics provided by World Trade Organization.

Statistical Insight: Provides access to statistical data and publications summarizing statistical findings. Includes data collected from U.S. federal and state government sources, private organizations, and intergovernmental organizations. Features descriptive abstracts, detailed indexing, full-text PDFs of source documents and tables, and down-loadable spreadsheets containing table data. Coverage from 1970 to present. USA Data and Statistics: a service on the U.S. government's official web portal. It also provides access to varied topic information and statistic data across the Federal Government.
