note: the first few words of the cc. incipit are difficult to read, but the legible portion (‘...son pargoletta bella e nova’) and the identity of the rhyme schemes leave no doubt about the match. This is the only known poem by Dante used as a singing model in the cc. repertory. Dante’s text is ed. in Opere di Dante, iii: Rime della maturità e dell’esilio, ed. M. Barbi and V.
