Oggi lieto e giocondo-b
CapQ:7/5 (ABBc CDDe..)

Lauda Poet:

Serafino Razzi

Notes:

note: lauda re. San Vincenzo. Razzi’s ‘Levate su sorelle’ & ‘Leviam’i nostri cori’ clearly linked to music of ‘Levate su pastori’, but Razzi also indicates that his ‘Oggi lieto e giocondo’ is to be sung to the music of ‘I’ sent’al cor conforto Cecilia gloriosa’ (fol. 31v; a2--cantus possibly related to that of ‘Levate su pastori’).

Notes:

note: RostirollaB, 717. Music à3 ed. RostirollaTL, 43 (with facs.; Anim1577). See ‘Levate su pastori’ as cc.. There is a similar cantus in Rz1563 w/text ‘Leviam’i nostri cori’ (ed. Mancuso, no. 31), which also appears to be related to the music in Rz1563 for ‘Io sento al cor conforto’ (the latter is paired with ‘Levate su pastori’ as cc. models for Razzi’s lauda ‘Oggi lieto e giocondo). 1589/2 transmits a3 setting nearly identical to that of Anim1577, but with Razzi’s text ‘Dolce felice e lieta notte’ (c. 12; and cc indication that text of ‘Levate su pastori’ may be sung to this music). ‘Levate su pastori’ and similar melody transmitted in 1689/2, ed. LuisiLG, ii, 164.
