Alternate cc. = ‘S’i’ pensassi a’ piacer del paradiso’ (cancelled in Ferr84, but preserved in R196) transmitted in Rz1563 w/the music of Baccio’s ‘Donne per electione’, both of which are given as cc. for ‘Madre del redemptor’ in R196, but Rz1563 transmits a different 4-part setting of ‘I’ mi truovo’. ‘I’ mi truovo’ a cc. for at least 6 different laude.

Ferr84 melody is a version of Razzi’s melody; both ed. in Carboni-ZiinoLM, 329. 1589/2 transmits a3 setting identical to Anim1577, except with shortened candential melismas for the first stanza, and (as in Rz1563) a musically independent ‘seconda parte’ for the 2nd stanza. See ‘Io mi trovo’ as modo proprio.

note: Rz1563 provides music for ‘I’ mi truovo’, then indicates 5 laude that may be sung to this music: ‘Non si puo imaginar’, ‘Jubili tutto’l mondo al suo signor’ (Bettini), ‘Jubili tutto’l mondo al nascimento’ (Fabbroni), ‘Chi veder brama’, & ‘Ecco’l gran padre’. M365 lists ‘Jubili tutto’l mondo al suo Signore’ with no stated cc. (i.e. as modo proprio in this case), followed by 4 laude (all by Bettini) to be sung ‘come quella di sopra’: ‘Riscalda il verde prato’,’Ecco’l dominator’, ‘Venitene fratelli’, & ‘I’ mi truovo Jesù’. Presumably the music in Rz1563 that serves the texts of both ‘Io mi trovo’ and ‘Jubili tutto’l mondo...signore’ is in fact the music intended for these other texts in M365.

Music ed. LuisiLG,ii,73-4; Mancuso,663-9. Probably same as cc. = ‘O Maria vergine bella’, which is the cc. for a lauda (‘Diva vergine bella’) with an identical form. This text of the cc., a popular lauda, is ed. in Luisi, i, 274, where its structure as a ballata grande is clear (the fragmentary text in Rz1563 is transcribed in Mancuso, where she calls it a canzone).
