In most sources, this cc. text follows ‘Vidi virgo Maria, che si stava’, and though it and the subsequent ‘O ciece, o sorda, o insensata setta’ look like quatrains, they are additions to the ‘Vidi virgo Maria’, and presumably borrow its refrain in performance.
