In his autograph ms., Pal173, vol. 106r-108r, Razzi transmits the text and tenor melody for ‘Si ch’io lo vo’ lodar Santo Feliciano’.

RC395 transmits a 2-part version similar to, but more reliable than Razzi’s (ed. MaceyS, 83-5), with the text ‘Ecco’l Signore’. The 2-part version in RC395 is closest to later versions perpetuated in the context of a series of Savonarolan ‘Ecce quam bonum’ motets; see MaceyB, 124-9 & Ch. 7. Razzi provides two settings of ‘Ecco’l Messia’, for 2 & 3 parts. The 2-part setting is most suitable as a cc. for ‘Ecce quam bonum’; the 3-part setting is a contrafact of ‘Ben venga Maggio’. After the Latin refrain (of 5+5+9 syllables), Bettini’s Italian verses in 7-syllable lines begin with the incipit ‘In quanto è gran dolcezza’.
