Poet:

Composer:

Lauda:

Per sua benignitate
BaG4/10:7 (xyyx abcabccddx)

Notes:

note: LuisiLG, i, 298-300 transmits text of ‘Per sua benignitade/in terra è apparito’ (and a variant on 305-6 that begins ‘Per sua humanitade’), however it is not a good match with the poetic form of Petrarch’s madrigal text, nor is R2871 absolutely clear about the link between these two texts. The lauda is an older text, found in (probably) pre-15thc. sources like BML, Ashburnham 423, fol. 170r, though it is sometimes attributed to Giustinian.
