Ch266

Partiti messere e vanne al tuo camino-c

Language:

it

Lauda:

Partiti core e vanne al amore
BaMn2/4?:11 (xx aabx)

Notes:

note: this link is conjectural. ‘Partiti core’ is transmitted in Ch266 without a cc., but a surviving letter to Belcari relates how at the deathbed of his daughter Suor Orsula, a nun at the Convent of Santa Brigida, her companions sang ‘Partiti core’; see NosowS, 537-40. The secular song ‘Partiti messer’ was used in both R2224 and elsewhere in Ch266 as a cc., and given the similarity of incipit seems a likely model for ‘Partiti core’.

BaG (xyyX aBaBbccX)

Notes:

note: In Ch266, 32v, the cc. rubric citing ‘Deduto sey’ falls between ‘O pace benedetta’ and ‘Nostr’avocata se’ et sempre fosti’, and appears to refer to the first of these. However, the mixed line lengths of ‘O pace’ are incompatible with ‘Deduto sey’, while those of ‘Nostr’ avocata’ (which also appears on fol. 126r bearing ‘Deduto sey’ as a cc.) are compatible.
